The following print comprises 10 layers of very fine Gampi tissue paper. On each layer a single image - a photograph of a girl taking a photograph - has been printed using photolithography. With each layer the image moves from right to left, creating the illusion of a gradual fade. The image is of my deceased mother at 10 years old, also an artist, who died when I was 10 years old. This print was produced alongside the following essay which comprised part of my research on maternal loss in fine art practice during my time on the MA print course at the Royal College of Art (2021-23).
